You can run this version using Wine for OSX. but insanely difficult to use and run, so for both technical and business reasons impossible for GOG to implement).
The Mac version was made for the classic OS, not OSX, there are no emulators for classic OS Mac (well there are. The game was so far along in development that my manual for Pharaoh has instructions on how to install the game on a Mac. The sales of Caesar III for Mac were so poor it caused Sierra to stop development of the Mac version of Pharaoh. This is how much I want the Mac version of the game - the desire is apparently causing me to have hallucinations, because I could swear that the icon for Macs was listed beside the Caesar III name, I went to download the Mac version tonight and was surprised it was not there!!! D from 1999.Īfter the game came out, I read somewhere that the Mac version of the game was better - the maps were bigger of each city on the Mac version. This game is the reason I still hold onto my lime green iMac G3/333 Rev. I am one of the 12,000 people who bought it (the Windows version sold something like over 300,000 copies).
Are there any plans to bring out this version? Tas03: Sierra actually made a Mac version of Caesar III.
